Jorge Valdivia

Electrical Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, majoring in Automation and Signal Processing. Diploma in Energy and Sustainable Development from Universidad de Santiago de Chile, with knowledge in the area of financial management. Has over 10 years of experience in areas such as Project Management and Control, Energy, Sustainability, Telecommunications, Information Processing, Automation of processes and Industrial Maintenance.

On Regulated Markets, has advised various entities, as they assessed electricity supply contracts, which has led to a better utilization of the options provided by law, achieving significant savings to his customers because of his expertise.

Regarding Transportation, he has coordinated technology projects for fleet management and for industrial processes, outstanding among them, projects for mining trucks dispatch systems (Dispatch) systems for traffic control, surveillance systems and tolls for highway concessions, remote monitoring and remote drives to convey minerals in the mining sector.

In telecommunications, he has excelled in managing large-scale mining projects to get communication across remote and difficult access sites, combining his knowledge in renewable energy to provide constant power supply to these systems sectors. He has also participated in telecommunications projects to achieve better coordination between geographically far apart municipal services, and support systems for surveillance and crime prevention offered by some municipalities.

For the area of Energy, has exerted an important work in the field of Non-Conventional Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, being promoter and fostering these initiatives at various Chilean universities and training centers. Has been pioneer in the implementation of intelligent networks for energy management, along with other technological systems for the analysis and control of electrical distribution networks and power quality. Along with the foregoing, has succeeded in implementing photovoltaic production plants in these institutions, and developed administrative and financial systems to ensure that these initiatives can be replicated. Has too conducted studies and projects of non-conventional renewable energy for the agricultural, commercial and residential fields.

In the construction field, both infrastructure and real estate, has implemented initiatives for energy efficiency and saving in construction projects of new buildings and energy rehabilitation of existing buildings, and also in public infrastructure, worked to create street illumination systems and automated irrigation systems, being his work reflected in the Department of Works and Infrastructure of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
